Guru Nanak’s birthday was celebrated with the soldiers of Paraplegic Institute, all the inmates are soldiers who are on wheelchair due to various injury received while carrying out military duties). The programme started with beautiful Shabads, ardas and waq from Harmandir Sahib with explanation, by Mrs Jaidka, a teacher from St Stephen’s School, Chandigarh. She had also made parshad for almost 90 people which was distributed to all. This was followed by a skit with an important message that every individual can contribute to the society by donating his/her organs and saving life of people, stressing on donation of eyes which one can give sight to a person. This was followed by quiz on different religions and beautiful Saakhis were narrated by the children of the soldiers. Twenty shirts, six mufflers, six towels and ten LED bulbs were given as prizes. Finally langar was served to almost 90 people.

Gurpurab has always been meaningful, but this one had a special meaning for the RCS members as it was with soldiers on wheel chairs and the most thrilling moment was when newly married couple was introduced.
